After gaining wine experience around the world, they formed TOPE in South Australia to produce delicious wines that refl ect their sense of place.Garth Cliff and Kristen McGann, winemakers with 40 years combined experience, launched Vino Volta in 2018 with a focus on old vine Chenin Blanc and Grenache from the best vineyards in the Swan Valley, creating world-class wines of great vibrancy and texture.Established in 1978, Michael Wright bought this winery adjacent to Leeuwin Estate in 1991, in the premium wine region of Margaret River. Known for its rich, opulent wines, especially Chardonnay and Cabernet Merlot.Pale straw with soft green hues. Aromas of fresh fi nger lime and lemon pith underpinned by fl oral and ripe peach notes. On the palate, soft citrus fl avours mirror the aromas, layered with saline oyster shell and green apple acidity, with slate flavours and chalkiness. Dry with a long salivating fi nish.Fruit from the Eastern Highlands of Clare Valley, where the cooler climate and long hang time produces fruit with a rich flavour profi le.Methode Ancestrale is the oldest technique of getting bubbles into wine, also known as petillant naturale. Chenin Blanc was whole bunch pressed, low turbidity ferments keep it clean. Lemon sherbet, grapefruit pith and mineral aromas and fl avours. Bright, clean and fun!Grenache sourced from an old Swan Valley vineyard of gravel and sand over coffee rock. Whole bunch pressed and then fermented as turbid juice. Super fruity with mulberry, raspberry and other berry fruits. The palate is creamy, even a touch oily, with some cidery notes.Fruit from the 25+ year old ‘Rockets’ Vineyard in the Upper Swan Valley was whole bunch pressed to old oak. A core of passionfruit and lemon/lime pith, with waxy, mealy characters and a touch of preserved lemon. The palate shows a bit of funk, good texture, and focused citrus acidity.A skin contact white, each variety was picked separately and naturally fermented on skins for three weeks before pressing off to old barriques. Super aromatic with Turkish delight, citrus and tropical fruit aromas, on the palate it is bright and lively, turning savoury and textural with a slightly bitter fi nish.Fruit from 60+ year old dry-grown, bushvine vineyards near the base of the Darling Scarp. A bright, exuberant and modern expression of Grenache. Wild strawberries, raspberry and sour cherry. Floral, sarsaparilla and dried herbs. Juicy upfront, rustic tannins help to maintain shape.Fermented in stainless steel to retain the fresh fruit profi le, and older French oak puncheons to add texture. Pale green straw. Aromas of honeysuckle, quince, red apple, lavender and musk on the nose lead into dried apricot and quince skin fl avours, notable minerality, and gentle grip on the palate.Fruit from select blocks with Margaret River’s renowned Gingin clone in the majority, which lend purity and vitality. Pale straw in the glass. Fresh aromas of sweet citrus, pawpaw, white fl ower and nougat. The palate is bright and balanced, with gentle toast and layered textures.Bright and juicy, refl ecting the near-perfect growing season and strong coastal influence that defines Voyager’s distinct style. A layered core of dark berries and finely woven tannins reveal a seamless approachability. Medium-bodied and vibrant, with generous, fi ne tannins.
